For twenty years, cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon Dr. Blaine M. Borders has served Northeast Louisiana, affirming high professional, ethical, moral, religious, and family values in all aspects of the medicine he has practiced. Those who know and respect this physician will be delighted to learn of his newest effort to serve our communities through the establishment of the Heart, Lung and Vascular Clinic.
Dr. Borders was born and raised in North Louisiana. He has an undergraduate degree from LSU Baton Rouge in Immunology and Microbiology. Dr. Borders then completed his General Surgery residency at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport. From there, he moved to the Medical College of Georgia and completed his residency in Cardiothoracic surgery. To complete his education, Dr. Borders did supplemental cardiac surgery training at the Karlinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden. Dr. Borders currently maintains Board Certification in General Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery.
With a reputation for pursuing the latest advances in technique and technology, and with his extensive surgical experience, Dr. Borders is again breaking new ground. At the Heart, Lung and Vascular Clinic, Dr. Borders and his team will provide unique and greatly needed health care services to our region. However, it is more than his surgical skill that attracts patients to this physician - it is his devotion to God, his belief in prayer, and his commitment to address each patient's physical and spiritual needs and to treat them with the utmost skill and compassion. Dr. Borders and the Heart, Lung and Vascular Clinic team are dedicated to provide patients with better long-term results and fewer complications.
Dr. Borders is proud to offer many of his services in an Office Based environment which allows for a more personal and directed care setting for his patients.
Additionally, clinic services are offered in more than one location. Dr. Borders' clinic now provides care in Franklin Parish, Monroe, and West Monroe.
Dr. Borders specializes in treatment and surgical intervention of peripheral arterial disease, venous disease, heart surgery, and lung surgery.
